Frequently Asked Questions
3rd Grade Handbook
Can my child bring snacks or water bottles to school?
Students are allowed to bring a snack to eat at morning recess. There will be no eating of snacks in the classroom without permission. If possible, please pack a healthy snack. Students are not allowed to share their snacks due to any allergies other students might have. Please do not send your child with any types of peanut or peanut butter snacks. Students are allowed to bring in a water bottle daily, but they must be responsible for it. Please do not fill your child's water bottle with anything other than water to prevent pests.
Can we bring treats for my child's birthday?
We want your child's birthday to be a meaningful one, while at the same time staying in compliance with the State of Hawaii Wellness Guidelines. If you like to send your child with a "treat" for each student (ex. pencils, stickers, etc.) or for the class as a whole, please let me know in advance. As a school we are working towards more strictly enforcing the "no sweets" policy, so please DO NOT send cupcakes, cookies, ice cream, etc. Treats will be given out at the end of the day.
